This weekend we welcome Armadale to The Wildlife Safari Stadium at Hartfield Park. This game is the first local derby, so should be a great game and atmosphere.
Last week we saw a great match day show, and a great performance on the pitch, in what was our first game in the National Premier Leagues. A well-earned draw against most people’s favourite for the title, Floreat Athena, was a great start to our campaign. Coupled with the fact that we did our first live broadcast as well, with over 77,000 views, made the evening a success all round.
On Saturday we will be live streaming the game again, if you want to see what it is like, go to the “Let’s Talk Football” or “Forrestfield United” Facebook page. We will also be showing the live stream in the clubhouse as well, so you won’t miss a second of the game. We will also test the live stream on our new FUSC TV YouTube channel.
Other news from around the club.
The Junior NPL preparations have gone well, and the season begins on 11th March with away matches at Murdoch University Melville. Good luck to everyone involved. Due to increased demand, we have added a second women’s team, and an all-girls U10 team this year.
This forms part of our 5 year plan to increase women and girls participation in football at Forrestfield United. A big thank you to the work of our Women’s Rep on the committee, Steph.
This year we will also add an Amateur U18’s and a Masters Over 45’s team. This is being done to allow our kids and older members to have options to play the sport the love, at the club they love.
All in all preparations for the season ahead across the whole club are going well, but it is an incredibly busy time of the year for us. If you have some time and want to help out, let me or a committee member know.
If you are experiencing any issues, then please let us know as well, but have a little patience and understanding, as all of the people that work so incredibly hard to make ours one of the best run clubs in WA, are volunteers.
Finally I would like to wish Rod, Bobby, Terry and the players the best of luck tonight. We are all behind you.
