Western Knights 01/06/19 Preview

Ahead of Saturdays Crunch match with Western Knights We spoke to First Team Assistant coach Sean Doyle. “Doyley” was in a positive mood after Saturday’s 2-0 victory over Morley. “We were pleased to get the result and clean sheet as it’s something we haven’t done this season yet – win ugly. It was nowhere near our best performance of the season but we got the three points and we’ll go into Saturday full of confidence.”

After losing Rhys Loxely, Ryan Francis and Herman Alagnon to injury on Saturday Sean was also in a positive mood, “It’s been well documented that we’ve had a lot of injuries this season – infact I can’t ever remember being at a club with so many – but it’s about the 11 that we put out on Saturday and we are confident we have a strong enough squad to cope with any obstacles we may encounter.”
With our reserve team flying high and unbeaten thus far in the league it may be the case that some of the youngsters are asked step up and having been the reserves coach last season Sean wasn’t phased by this at all. “The young boys have done really well this season so far and will get their opportunities, hopefully they can take their chances when they arise and we are very confident that they can make that step up when required.”

We travel to Mosmon Park on Saturday, 3pm, for our First meeting with Western Knights this season. Knights are currently second on the ladder, just a point behind Ashfield. A win for Forrie could potentially push us up to 6th on the ladder however it is sure to be a tough afternoon for Forrie but what is life without a challenge!
