President’s Message

Most people would think that because the season is over, we all sit back and relax, recharge the batteries, preparing to do it all again next year. Well, that’s not the case, and this off season is probably busier than in previous years.

With the promotion to NPL for both our seniors and juniors, there is a lot of work going on in the background making sure we are ready. With our juniors it is all about development and making sure they get the most out of competing at the highest level in WA. With our seniors, the aim is to establish Forrestfield United as a force to be reckoned in the NPL. It’s the first time in 31 years since we have competed in the highest league in WA, and we want to stay there.

The last week or so has seen many of our efforts come to fruition, the launch of the lottery to name the grandstand, the announcement of a couple of new players arriving at the club and, of course, the addition of a Perth Glory legend to our senior coaching staff. I welcome the “two” Tom’s and Bobby, not because they are highly respected members of the football fraternity in WA, but because they “get” what we are trying to do at Forrestfield United. Thomas Jebb and Thomas Southgate are returning to the club where their football journey started, and Bobby is joining a club that means he is working with friends and matches his ambitions.

If you haven’t bought a grandstand naming lottery ticket yet, please do. Also remember that we have our AGM on Wednesday 22nd November at 7pm. Come along, it will be a great meeting, lot’s of successes to celebrate and lot’s of important decisions to make. It’s a chance for you to have your say, and a chance to help shape the future of our club.

Finally, as we enter the new world of NPL, we are actively working on many different ways to generate income, which is not related to registrations. The more “non-registration”income we generate, the better position the club will be in to do all of things we want to do.

Do we need your help to achieve this, yes we do.

If you want to help, and be part of the best club in WA, please let me know.

Thank you.
